About Troop 431G

Troop 431G was established in 2024. Our troop provides girls the same opportunities to develop leadership skills, build character, learn outdoor skills, and have adventures that have been available to boys for generations.

While Troops 431 and 431G operate as separate troops with their own leadership and meetings, they share the same chartered organization and often participate in joint activities and events.

The Patrol Method

Like all Scouts BSA troops, Troop 431G operates using the patrol method, where Scouts are organized into small groups called patrols. Each patrol functions as a team, with members taking on leadership roles and working together to plan and carry out activities.

This youth-led structure allows Scouts to develop leadership skills in a supportive environment. Adult leaders provide guidance and ensure safety, but the Scouts themselves are responsible for planning and conducting troop activities.

Advancement and Achievement

The Scouts BSA advancement program provides a clear path for Scouts to develop skills and earn recognition:

  • Ranks: Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle
  • Merit Badges: Over 140 subjects focusing on life & outdoor skills to voacations and life-long hobbies. There is a merit badge for every interest and activity!
  • Leadership Positions: Opportunities to serve as patrol leader, senior patrol leader, and other roles
  • Eagle Scout: Scouting's highest rank, earned by completing a significant service project

Troop Activities

Troop 431G offers a year-round program of outdoor adventure and learning:

  • Monthly camping trips
  • Summer & winter camps within our council and other BSA camps in the Southeast
  • District camporees and council events
  • Community service projects
  • Outdoor skills workshops and merit badge clinics
